Patchwork with Janet

This regular group with Janet Goddard meets every month on the fourth Tuesday.

Janet provides projects for you to work on, although you can work on your own piece with Janet's assistance.

Dates during 2021:  25 May, 22 June, 27 July, 24 August, 28 September, 26 October, 23 November

The day runs from 10.00am - 4.00pm and discounts are available for purchasing a block of dates.  If you wish you come for half a day, please contact the shop on 01234 824983.

25 May:  Stained Glass Patchwork.  This involves making bias strips which are added to a design to create a stained glass effect.  The class will work on two floral designs during the day.

22 June:  Patchwork Zippy Pouches.  These little zippy pouches have patchwork detail on the outside and are perfect for storing cosmetics and toiletries.

27 July:  Triple Dresden Plate.  The block is constructed from pieced wedges.  Each wedge is made from 3 different fabrics.  The middle fabric in each wedge creates a circular effect in the middle of the block.  You will use machine piecing and applique.

24 August:  Sew A Row Quilt - Big and Little Squares

28 September: Sew A Row Quilt:  Crosses

26 October:  Sew A Row Quilt:  Retro Flowers

23 November:  Sew A Row Quilt:  Stepping Stones

Sew A Row Quilt

August will begin our "sew a row" project which will continue over several months.  Janet had great fun designing and stitching this quilt and hopes that you will enjoy participating and sewing along together.

The quilt has been designed so that you can customise it and stitch as much or as little as you wish.  There are six rows and each row consists of five blocks.  You can make a quilt the same size as Janet or perhaps make a smaller lap quilt or even make more blocks and make it bigger.

The project includes simpler blocks for those new to patchwork and some a little trickier for the more experienced stitcher.  You will do a mix of piecing and applique.

In addition to spending your time crafting, Tudor Rose Patchwork offers a special lunchtime menu at O For Coffee for students.  You can choose from a selection of jacket potatoes, sandwiches, paninis, toasties and soups.
