In this dressmaking course with Geraldine Sykes, you will learn how to create beautiful clothes tailored to fit and flatter your unique shape and size. Over six days, you will master the essential skills needed to craft a garment from scratch that is designed perfectly for you.
 
This hands-on activity is ideal for anyone wanting to make their own well-fitting clothes. Under Geraldine's expert guidance, you will progress from measurements to a finished piece.
 
In this workshop, you will learn how to:
Take accurate measurements and trace off patterns for your individual size
Create a calico toile
Refine the fit of your toile with personalised adjustments
Select your preferred fabric and construct your garment
 
Throughout the course, you will gain the knowledge to either craft your own original designs or customise commercial patterns to suit your measurements. Imagine the satisfaction of wearing clothes that complement your figure effortlessly, thanks to the skills you'll acquire.
 
By the end of this course, you will have developed a brilliant new set of skills to continue creating personalised pieces that showcase your individual style.

In addition to spending your time crafting there is a coffee shop on site - O For Coffee.  Tudor Rose Patchwork offers students 10% discount on anything consumed from O For Coffee.   As well as a large selection of hot and cold drinks, the menu includes jacket potatoes, sandwiches, paninis, toasties, soups.  For those with a sweet tooth there is also a variety of cakes baked on site including gluten free and vegan options.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Should Tudor Rose Patchwork have to cancel a workshop you will receive a full refund.
  • This is a four block session and if you cannot attend any days, then the pattern will be provided. 
  • Should you wish to cancel your attendance on the course more than 30 days before the first workshop date you will receive a refund less our £5 administration fee.  Tudor Rose Patchwork may be able to transfer your booking to another date.
  • Patterns remain the property of the tutor and should not be copied, passed on or used for teaching purposes without  the permission of the tutor.
