Messy Play for Textiles with Kathleen Laurel Sage
Do you have machine skills but wish you could use them on your own designed fabrics? Then this is the course for you. We will get to grips with all the messy play that can help you achieve your own unique fabrics to use in your stitching projects.
Each month we will look at a project that requires you to make, print or colour your fabrics to use in it and will cover topics such as lino printing, waxed fabric canvasses, hot wax resists, light reactive dyes, screen printing and carving your own blocks to print. You will then use your machine to make the project or you can just enjoy the play and collect a portfolio of designs to refer to in future projects.
Tuesdays: 9 February, 9 March, 13 April, 11 May, 8 June, 13 July, 10 August, 14 September, 12 October, 9 November, 14 December.
