The Services We Offer!
At Tudor Rose Patchwork we pride ourselves on the services we provide to our customers.
These fall into four categories:
1. Retail
2. Help and Advice
3. Courses/Workshops
4. Courses
Retail
What do we offer? Well, nearly everything that you might want in the way of materials, tools, patterns, magazines and ideas for your textile project. While we are specialists in Patchwork and Quilting, we also stock requisites for many other fabric and thread-based hobbies. We also stock many items which you will find useful for more "workaday” activities such as sewing and knitting. It’s always worth asking us if we stock what you want. The chances are that we will!
If we don’t have it, our highly-experienced staff will help you to identify another shop which might have it. If the worst comes to the worst, if we can order it in for you, we will!
A non-exhaustive list of the textile and thread crafts that we stock items for is Patchwork, Quilting, Knitting, Crochet, Lacemaking, Embroidery, Tapestry, Goldwork, Candlewicking, Stumpwork, Sewing … and more!
We are also accredited agents for Janome and Pfaff Sewing Machines and Overlockers. Come and have one of our staff demonstrate our machines to you. There’s bound to be one which will meet your exact needs.
Workshops/Courses
Another way we help our customers is through the workshops that we offer. There
are too many workshop offerings to list here; download the courses
pamphlet from our Home Page – or phone the shop to have the printed
version mailed out to you. Most of our courses
and workshops are led by experienced, well-known tutors such as Helen
Coverley, Gillian Ashwell or Kathleen Laurel Sage. We also have newer tutors who are good, but who are just building up their reputations. We bring tutors in from as far afield as
The workshops are held at our store in Oakley in a well-equipped workshop behind the retail area.
Help and Advice
Our staff members are committed to ensuring that you get what help or advice you need and ask for. If the staff member you first speak to can’t answer your question, it may well be that one of the others, either on duty or who may work another day, will be able to help you. If the question falls outside the range of subjects that our staff can help you with, you can be sure that they will do their best to put you in touch with someone who can help!
Clubs
We also offer Clubs in patchwork and quilting, sewing and knitting. These fall somewhere between asking our staff for advice or enrolling for one of the many workshops we have available. But they are often much more fun than either of those, because they have no real agenda or planned outcome, just the notion that people who get together for a few hours to do the same kind of thing will be able to help each other, exchange patterns and ideas and generally enjoy themselves. We are always open to the idea of starting another club, so if you would like to belong to a club specialising in your particular textile-based hobby, ask us!
