Gillian has been fascinated by and working with beads since she was a child, and began exploring and experimenting with bead stringing, threading and weaving techniques when she was in her teens. She has been teaching beadwork extensively for the past twenty-five years as weekly classes, one- day workshops and residential courses throughout Bedfordshire and further afield. Her students have an incredible appetite for new designs, which she really enjoys satisfying: she is never happier than when designing, and with her background in the fine arts, revels in the challenge and the process of working up new pieces, finding new ways and styles of using techniques. She has a constant flow of ideas in her head and as sketches, jostling to be made up! She is a member of The Bead Society of Great Britain, The Beadworkers Guild and The Bead Study Trust. |
